The Many Benefits and Uses for Police Visor Lights
Police use a multitude of tools to get their jobs done effectively and accurately. One of these tools is police visor lights. What exactly are police visor lights? Well, these are lights that are attached to any vehicle to make others aware of an emergency situation when they are on. Many people other than police use police visor lights, such as volunteer firefighters. These types of lights can either be permanent or just temporary depending upon the situation.
Police visor lights come in basically two colors, red and blue or a combination of both. A combination of red and blue is most often seen on police cruisers or undercover police vehicles. Firefighters mainly use the red color. The combination of colors allow for maximum visibility during both the day and the night. Red is most noticeable during the day, while blue is more noticeable at night.
These types of lights are excessively used for those in undercover vehicles as they are not as noticeable as lights that are permanently attached to the roof of the vehicles. Those undercover vehicles that use police visor lights may have them where all they have to do is stick them up to the front windshield or on top of the car at a moment's notice, which is why undercover police officers find them so helpful to use.
In most cases police visor lights are inside the rear window. When they are not turned on it makes them extremely hard to spot because they blend in with the interior of the car. Police officers have found them extremely helpful in spotting traffic offenses, as the drivers rarely look for a car without lights to pull over speeders.
These visor lights are one of the best choices for police officers not only due to the ability to blend with the car, but also because they are light weight and do not put off that much heat. That makes them very easy to install or remove. Most of these lights are LED's, meaning that they have a long lifespan and officers get longer use of the lights. Since they are lighter weight than other police lights if they are installed permanently on a cruiser it has no effect on the car's ability to perform. Other lights that are heavy and bulky have a tendency to affect take off power, which anything that helps the officer any amount is well worth it.
